Joe Lawler, retired veteran street-cop, has quit Chicagoland to relocate from the cold rainy Midwest to the blue skies, the115-degree summers, mountains and deserts of Southern Nevada. And, oh yes, Glitter Gulch, the Las Vegas Strip, and it’s 24/7 gambling, booze, sex, shows, lights
and glitz.
Lawler has taken a part-time police gig, starting over as a street-cop in the Las Vegas suburb of Stewart City, while awaiting a full-time job with Las Vegas Metro PD, or the Coroner’s Investigators to come through – or anything with a full-time badge and medical benefits attached.
Meanwhile, a killer lures vulnerable tourists to death by strangulation. Lawler must buck the system, Stewart PD Detectives, his chief, and his burnt-out partner, as well as Southern Nevada police jurisdictional rivalries. All to prove his investigative mettle and to prevent any further
deaths. He knows he is up to it. But is Sin City up to him?
